On November 19th and 20th 2021, BECT organized Teacher’s Training Program for the 35 teachers of four schools namely -Azad H.S.School Maroda, Shanti Convent School Maroda, Bhilai Ispat Vikas Vidhyalaya (BIVV), Sector-6 and Khursipar. This was held in the premises of BSP Senior Secondary School, Sector-10. Training was based on the following two topics -“Foundational Literacy & Numeracy (FLN)” and “21st century teaching pedagogy”.

We are grateful to our master trainers :- Mr. Sunil Mishra (SCERT, Raipur), Mr. Sanjay Gulati (Education Consultant) and Mr. Surendra Pandey (Dist Mission Coordinator Samagra Shikhsa, Durg) for making our initiative fruitful by training the teachers on how to impart quality education to children .
The second day was also graced by Mr. Saurabh Sinha (GM – BSP HRD), Mr. A.K. Verma (BSP Education Officer and SSS-X Principal) Mr. Wilson Mammen ( BECT Advisory) .



Bhilai Education Charitable Trust (BECT) organized  two days’ Online sessions of Teacher’s Training program on New Education Policy (NEP)-2020 with a focus on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) mission for Azad H.S.S, BSP BIVV-6 and BIVV -11 schools. The 2 days’ online workshop was completed on 31st August -2021.

The resource person of the event was Mr. Sanjay Gulati (Education Consultant). Mr. Gulati has more than 25 years of academic and training experience.  The Special Guests of the event was Retd. District Judge, Mrs. Maitreyi Mathur ; General Manager, HRD , BSP  Mr. Saurabh and Asst. Project Officer, Samagra Siksha, Durg , Mr. Abhay Jaiswal.

The sessions were very informative and the teachers actively put up their queries and got answers to their questions related to the ways they will be affected by this newly introduced policy.

The 1st day Session was on New Education policy (NEP)-2020, Mr. Gulati shed light on the current state of the Learning Crisis, which gave way to the creation of this new structure i.e., it replaced the 10+2 with 5+3+3+4. He outlined the importance of Comprehensive learning of students and stated that now assessment moving from summative to formative assessment.

The 2nd day session was focused on FLN’s mission and methods to ensure that children learn in a joyful manner through play, stories, rhymes, activities, local art, craft and music and develop strong foundations for lifelong learning. 

The online session ended with a Quiz based on NEP & FLN and an intense interactive discussion-based question-answer session by the speaker and participants. The program received an excellent feedback from all the participants.
